Description
The VISOCOLOR® ECO Silica HR 200 Test Kit is for the photometric determination of silica.
The test can only be evaluated using the Macherey-Nagel PF-12 PLUS photometer.
Silicon is the second most abundant element in the earth’s crust. By decomposition of natural rocks, silica is added to water. An adequate treatment of boiler feed water is necessary to avoid corrosion as well as sediment accumulation of the heating system, and thus maintain its durability and efficiency. However, a high content of silica can lead to acid-fixed deposits (so-called silicate stone) and thus restrict a safe, trouble-free operation. Targeted monitoring of silica concentration allows a more efficient operation and can prevent costly downtimes.
