The NANOCOLOR® Nitrate Standard Test Kit is for the photometric determination of nitrate.
Test method for kit 91865:
In acidic solution nitrate ions react with 2,6-dimethylphenol to form 4-nitro-2,6-dimethylphenol, which can be evaluated photometrically.
Test method for kit 91863:
Fist nitrate ions are reduced to form nitrite ions. In acidic solution these nitrite ions react with sulphanilic acid and 1-naphthylamine to form a red azo dye.
